Aker QRILL Company fleet
Our journey from a single vessel to a world-leading fleet
What started with a single vessel has evolved into a fleet of dedicated, state-of-the-art krill harvesting ships. Our journey is one filled with innovation and efficiency, from building a fleet from scratch to now operating three advanced fishing vessels and one multipurpose service ship. Every step of our process is anchored on board, as all krill production takes place directly on our vessels, which ensures the highest quality raw material from the ocean.
Innovative harvesting technology
Our pioneering approach includes the development of Twin Pelagic Trawling, which involves deploying fishing nets on both sides of the vessel for greater efficiency. Each vessel is equipped with our patented Eco-Harvesting® technology, which brings krill on board for immediate processing – reducing by-catch while preserving the premium quality and maximizing value by utilizing the whole krill.
Efficiency through our multipurpose vessel
One of the keys to our success is our one-of-a-kind multipurpose service vessel. Designed to carry products, fuel, crew, parts, and provisions, it ensures that our krill fishing vessels maintain optimal operations with minimal downtime during crew changes, fueling, and unloading. This efficiency directly translates into lower fuel consumption and reduced CO2 emissions.
A vision for the future
Recognized as one of the most innovative companies in both Norway and Europe, our commitment to excellence is unwavering. In early 2025, Aker QRILL Company signed a contract to construct our fourth state-of-the-art krill fishing vessel. This is a critical milestone in our mission to deliver sustainable, premium nutrition. This new vessel, scheduled to operate under a Norwegian fisheries license in the CCAMLR krill fishery starting in late-2026, further solidifies our leadership in the industry.
